Litmus Automation Expands into Japan and Establishes New Partnerships
Ryerson Futures alumni company Litmus Automation is making big strides to become a major player in the growing Internet of Things space.
Litmus Automation bridges the gap between data in the field or factory and business applications for companies looking to implement Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. Litmus Automation’s platforms, LoopEdge and Loop, work seamlessly together to allow companies to access and exploit data previously trapped inside enterprise hardware, no matter where or when it was deployed.
Working with original equipment manufacturers and other industrial companies, Litmus Automation’s proven IIoT solutions offer data and device management so companies can optimize both how they run their business and how their customers’ businesses operate. The company’s had great success, with over a dozen major clients and partners and nearly 200 devices (legacy and new) supported. In the last few months, Litmus has expanded their market and established new partnerships, pushing their business to the next level.
Japanese expansion
Because Litmus achieved early success in the Japanese market with Fortune 500 customers like Nissan, the company is expanding into Japan and hired a local country manager.
Japan offers a key expansion opportunity for us based on its economic makeup and the strength of the manufacturing and automotive industry,” said Vatsal Shah, CEO and co-founder. “As demonstrated by our early marquee clients worldwide, Nissan and Renault, there is a desire for our products in the Japanese market and we are pleased to expand our efforts to meet demand. Venu is a seasoned business development executive and has a large network of business contacts in Japan.”
The expansion will feature Litmus’ IoT products, Loop and LoopEdge, which work toward secure connectivity, device management, and application integration for industrial manufacturing and connected transportation.
“Litmus Automation has a great IoT Middleware solution that I believe will allow Japanese companies to quickly realize the full potential of connected industrial and transportation solutions,” said Country Manager Venu Sathiraju. “The pain points that have been inhibiting deployment of IoT solutions, especially with many legacy devices in Japan, can now be addressed with Loop.”
New partnerships
Litmus also has two new partnerships to develop their technology for specific uses.
The first, with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, allows customers to purchase an HPE Edgeline IoT Gateway, running Litmus LoopEdge immediately out of the box for a hardware and software combination that enables Industrial IoT applications.
“Companies are facing many challenges with implementing IIoT solutions from solving problems at the edge when working in legacy environments to accessing data in the cloud,” said Olivier Frank, Worldwide Senior Sales Director and Alliances IoT, HPE. “Now, with HPE Edgeline Gateways combined with LoopEdge, they have access to an incredible combination of hardware and software, making it easier to get started with IoT, collecting and analyzing valuable data at the edge.”
The second partnership, with Kyra Solutions based in Florida, will leverage the Loop platform to enable governmental entities to derive business value from new or legacy data sources through smart city applications.
“Kyra knows how to work with government clients, understands their unique mission, and has a proven track record, which will help our companies deliver immediate value to this key market,” said Shah.
The two are engaged on several IoT-based projects with American transportation agencies.
