The 7th Edition of Next Big Idea India introduces ten Indian founders to the Canadian market

After a nationwide search across India to find the next great international tech innovation, ten companies were selected and travelled to Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary to participate in this market access program.

The Next Big Idea (NBI) Contest began in 2013 and has brought over 60 founders to participate in a soft-landing program, exploring opportunities to expand into the Canadian market. The ten founders this year spent two weeks between three cities networking and learning about advantages and benefits for international founders starting up in Canada.

Here are the ten NBI companies for 2019:

AssessHub

AssessHub is a skill assessment and predictive analytics platform to hire, develop, and retain talent. The platform uses technologies like AI & ML to measure job-relevant skills and uses existing industry data to predict future performance.

AuthBase

AuthBase is an AI-based cybersecurity company that uses deep learning to identify and mitigate threats across networks. Their product LiveSHIELD is an end-to-end network security platform for detection and mitigation of threats like bots and ransomware. Their behaviour-based machine learning platform responds in-time to threats and attacks and reduces the time taken by security operation teams to take action.

Bioscan Research

Bioscan Research has developed a handy, non-invasive, fully automatic system for detecting an intracranial hemorrhage in two minutes. It can be carried easily, used by a layman with 20 minutes of training, and can be used multiple times, non-invasively and harmlessly. Such a device—when deployed in trauma centres, emergency departments, and ambulances—will save the lives of millions of patients whose brain injuries go undiagnosed.

BlinkIN

BlinkIN is a visual bot which is a visual SIRI / Alexa for any kind of technical troubleshooting and complaint registration. Whenever you need help, you can use your smartphone to show BlinkIN the device or the machine and BlinkIN automatically guides you with the best possible solution augmented on your screen. Their visual bot guides your customers intuitively step-by-step to understand the issues with the device, log a complaint and, if needed, send the right technician to resolve the issue.

DataMatrix

Datamatrix‘s invention of virtual metering provides a new pathway for remotely monitoring and optimizing utilities such as pumping systems’ air handling, HVAC, water, and wastewater utilities using only energy and temperature sensors in a cost-effective and scalable manner. The knowledge of dynamic performance of these systems can help to reduce energy costs for these fluid systems by up to 20%.

EnrichAI

EnrichAI is developing a cloud-based automated process for analyzing and categorizing rock samples, speeding the development of geological digital models of reservoirs through AI. Computer vision and machine learning form the core backbone of the product, and highly intuitive and interactive web applications are built to enhance the user experience.
